Finding Joy

When was the last time you thought about joy? I never thought about joy. I thought about happiness. I thought about good and bad. But never about joy. I knew there were moments that filled me with such positivity and overwhelm, but I never labeled them as joy. Until one day, when I was pondering the question, “what do I want”, that I had the realization I wanted more joy.

I came to this realization on the way home from a relaxing ski trip up north. My husband was driving and I was letting my mind wander. I kept thinking of the very Scandinavian, Norwegian, and Danish influences that surrounded us during our vacation which were based upon the simple life or “hygge” way of doing things. Just the thought of it made me feel cozy inside. I wanted more of that in my life.

I’ve been a health and wellness expert for over 25 years. I’ve worked with individuals and companies on their wellness plans, which focus on all aspects of well-being. I always loved helping others get healthier but never thought of health in the context of joy. Work was meant to be a source of income. It was meant to be a place where you could apply your education and skills. You could have fun at work and make friends at work, but mostly, workers lived for the weekend.

Then I thought, “Is it possible to have more joy in life and work? If so, what is the recipe for more joy?” From that moment, I began building the business of joy. I’ve spent countless hours reading books, reviewing websites, listening to blogs, and watching TedEx videos on the power of more joy. I’ve compiled the best of what I’ve found into the foundation course “6-weeks Journey to More Joy in Life”. Knowing that each individual’s journey is different and that the tools, research, and exercises will resonate differently with everyone. I built the course with you in mind. YOU as the individual you are, no matter where you are on your path to rediscover joy.

I know this works. I know because I’ve used it myself as a test case. My life has changed in numerous ways since instituting the various principles of MŌR JOY. I wanted to prove to myself that if I could experience joy while working in a highly stressful, corporate job, then others could experience it too.

I have found that the fog has lifted, the weight is off my shoulders, and my mind has cleared since utilizing the principles presented here. My hope is to share this with as many people as possible, so we can all spend more time in a joyful state. This is not only good for ourselves, but for all the people we interact with on any given day.

Enjoy MŌR JOY!
